Eco-Connect Panel wins Innovative Product of the Year
AGA
Rayburn Eco-Connect Panel has been voted Innovative Product
of the Year at the OFTEC Awards for Excellence 2010 on
Friday 29th October 2010 and the Rayburn 680 KCD was runner up in
the same category.
The innovative Eco-Connect Panel enables the interconnection of
different appliances, ensuring that energy is intelligently drawn
from the greenest source at all times. The panel incorporates a
visual display showing the current operating status and which
energy source is being used, and consists of a wiring centre, pump
station and heat exchanger with motorised valves. Thermistors are
used with an intelligent control panel to continually measure the
water temperature and domestic hot water cylinder.
Hot water is diverted by Eco-Connect to where it is needed, e.g
the hot water cylinder and/or the central heating circuits. If the
renewable appliance (e.g. woodburning stove) is not giving
sufficient output then the automatic boiler or Rayburn will be
brought into operation in a mixed mode. However, if one of the
'eco' options is selected, then the boiler will not automatically
fire. This is particularly useful for installations with a thermal
store and solar collectors. Priority is always automatically given
to the renewable heat source.
