Savoury Palmiers

These are good served with drinks.
Makes 16

225g (8 oz) good quality sausagemeat
1 tbsp tomato purée
1 clove of garlic, crushed
1 piece of ready rolled puff pastry
Poppy seeds

Place the sausage meat into a basin, mix in the tomato purée and garlic. Spread the sausage meat over the pastry. Fold both long sides into the centre, brush with water and again fold in half lengthways. Cut into 1cm (½ inch) slices and place well apart on a lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with the poppy seeds.

Main Oven 220ºC (425ºF), Gas Mark 7
Cook on the second set of runners down for about 15 minutes, turn once during cooking.
