208K
The Rayburn
208K was introduced in 1994,as the successor to the OF7 (the oil fired version
of the Royal SF). Intended for continually burning, to give cooking and
domestic hot water, it was available with right hand ovens only. The burner
is a vapourising sleeve type, using 28 second kerosene, to produce heat for the oven
and domestic hot water. It is also available as a non boiler model (208KN
), for cooking only. The 208KN later (1999) became the 200K.
The heat level
is adjusted by use of the dial on the oil control valve, which is usually
mounted on the side of the appliance. This increases or decreases the fuel flow
rate to the burner; there being a defined minimum and maximum flow rate for the
correct function of the appliance.
The maximum
heat to the domestic hot water is 8000BTU/Hr (2.3KW) obtained when the
control is set on the highest setting, giving the highest oven temperature.
Circulation to the hot water (140Litre) cylinder (direct or indirect) is by
gravity on an open vented system. The cast iron boiler has a vitreous enamel
lining for applications in soft water areas.
Production of the 200K and the 208K ceased during 2007 having largely been
superseded by the 300 series.
