TURNING YOUR RAYBURN OFF

Models 365 G/L & Gas Nouvelle

If central heating is not required for a short period of say several days, it is sufficient just to turn the external clock or room thermostat OFF and the control knob 'H' to the OFF position, leaving the pilot 'G' alight.

To extinguish the pilot light as well, twist the control knob 'P' clockwise until it clicks.

If the cooker is to only be left for a few days, then the cooker control knob 'D' should be turned to the LOW position.

To extinguish the cooker burner completely:-

1. Turn control knob 'D' to OFF position.

2. Turn pilot control tap OFF, i.e. with the slot across the gas-pipe.

3. If desired, the external gas cock 'A' can also be closed.

Note. Whenever the boiler burner is in operation, the cooker burner 'E' should be alight as well, not just the cooker pilot 'C' alone.

During very cold weather, in an otherwise unheated house, consideration should be given to leaving the cooker burner on low and the boiler on a low setting, to prevent freezing of the water system.
