TURNING YOUR RAYBURN OFF
Models 880, 8120, 8150K
During very cold weather, in
an otherwise unheated house, consideration should be given to leaving the boiler
burner on a low temperature setting, in the 'heating' mode, to prevent freezing of the water system.
To turn OFF either burner, just switch the
relevant programmer slide to the OFF position. There is no need to alter the
position of the thermostats.
For longer periods of non-use, we recommend that
with oil fired models, the fuel line should be isolated at the storage tank or
at a convenient service valve, external to the Rayburn.
If possible, the electricity supply should remain
turned ON, so as to maintain the programmer settings, although the internal
battery should support this for about three weeks.
