TURNING YOUR RAYBURN OFF
All Solid Fuel Models
Warning for cookers containing
boilers. During prolonged, very cold weather, in an otherwise unheated house,
consideration should be given to draining the water system, to prevent freezing.
If the cooker is to remain unlit for a longer
period, then the grate, ash-pan and fire-box should be cleaned of ash and
clinker, including flue-ways.
The ash-pit, fire-box and oven doors should be
left ajar and the chimney damper open, to prevent harmful condensation.
It is a good idea to have the chimney and
flue-ways swept at this time and always before relighting a solid fuel appliance
after a long period of non-use.
