TURNING YOUR RAYBURN ON
Models 200G, 200L, GDO

Open the burner door ( L.H. lower) to gain access to the burner which should
look like this.

The burner will have a control knob like this.

To light.
1. Turn off the electrical supply to the Rayburn
2. Turn the thermostat knob 'D' to its lowest setting or OFF position
3. Make sure that any external gas cocks are turned ON. Turn ON the
service cock 'E' so that the line mark on the cock is in line with the pipe.
4. Turn knob 'B' to the 'Ignition' position and depress fully, at the
same time operating the spark generator 'C' until the pilot flame ignites.
5. Keep the control knob 'B' depressed for at least a further 15 seconds
before releasing.
6. If the pilot then goes out, wait 3 minutes, before repeating the
procedure, but holding the knob in for slightly longer.
7. With the pilot flame established, turn knob 'B' to the 'ON' position. With
early models (up to and including 1995) will the main burner will then light. On
later models, the electricity should now be switched on and the thermostat knob
'D' turned to the 'LOW' setting, when the main burner will then light.
8. Keep the burner on low for about 5 minutes, after which the thermostat may
be turned to the setting required.
9. When the correct oven temperature is reached, or if the electricity is
turned off by a timeclock or otherwise, or the thermostat knob is turned to a
lower setting, then the main burner will, on early models, go to a low flame idling condition, or, on later models -
extinguish completely.
WARNING. If the burner fails to ignite or operate
properly; or there is a smell of gas or fumes; or you are unsure if the cooker
has been serviced recently, --- DO NOT USE --- Have the appliance checked
by a qualified engineer.
