TURNING YOUR RAYBURN ON
Models 360K, 360D, PJ
WARNING. If the burner fails to
ignite or operate properly; or there is a strong smell of oil or fumes; or you
are unsure if the Rayburn has been serviced recently, --- DO NOT USE ---
Have the appliance checked by a qualified engineer.

Ensure that water system is filled before
firing the Rayburn.
This Rayburn incorporates a burner which is
automatic in operation, under the control of either of the two thermostats in addition to any
external controls which may have been fitted, such as a time-clock or room
thermostat.
Inside the Rayburn are removable firebricks which
must be positioned to give the desired heat balance, e.g. shielding the boiler
for reduced output during summer use.

A damper control selects where the heat from the
burner is to be directed, giving priority to either, the boiler for central
heating and hot water or, for cooking and hot water.
When the damper is set to the cooking position,
the oven thermostat is used for controlling the burner, which will fire
automatically. On later models it is also necessary to switch on the oven
thermostat priority switch to transfer the control to the oven thermostat. With
earlier models this happens automatically.
When cooking is not required the damper must be
set to the 'H' position, the oven thermostat turned OFF, and on later models the
priority switch also turned OFF. Control of the burner then passes to the boiler
thermostat, which should be set to the desired water temperature.
On the 360D model only, there will be a delay of
up to 2 minutes before the burner actually fires, after the controls have been
turned ON.
If the burner fails to ignite the burner reset
button will illuminate. Wait 3 minutes before pressing the button to attempt
another start-up. Should lockout keep occurring, switch the Rayburn OFF and have
the appliance checked by your service engineer.
