TURNING YOUR RAYBURN ON

Models 480AL(CF) & 480AG(CF)

Ensure that water system is filled.

Turn ON the gas cock 'E'.  Make sure the electricity supply is switched OFF.

Ensure that the CDSD button is reset with button pressed in.

To Light Cooker burner.

1. Turn the cooker thermostat to the OFF position.

2.  Press and hold in the FFD button 'F' whilst repeatedly operating the spark generator 'D' until the flame can be seen through the viewing window.

3. Continue to hold button 'F' down for a further 15 seconds.

4. Release 'F' and the pilot should remain alight. If not, Wait 3 minutes, then repeat the procedure, but holding 'F' down for slightly longer.

5. Turn on the electricity supply and cooker thermostat to the desired setting. The main burner will now light.

6. When the cooker reaches its set temperature, the main burner will  extinguish leaving the pilot only

To Light Boiler Burner - Models up to February 2004 

1. Ensure that the boiler overheat thermostat is reset with the button pushed in.

2. Switch OFF the electricity supply.

3. Turn OFF the boiler thermostat.

4. Push and hold in the boiler gas control knob 'A' whilst repeatedly operating the spark generator 'B' until the pilot flame can be seen through the viewing window

5. Continue to hold 'A' in for a further 15 seconds

6. Release 'A' and the pilot should stay alight. If not, Wait 3 minutes, then repeat the procedure, but holding 'A' down for slightly longer.

7. Turn ON the electricity supply, any external controls and the boiler thermostat to the desired temperature. The main burner should now light.

To Light Boiler Burner - Models from February 2004 onwards

The boiler burner has automatic electronic ignition and will operate under the control of the thermostat and time clock.

February 2004 onwards

WARNING. If either burner fails to ignite or operate properly; or there is a smell of gas or fumes; or you are unsure if the cooker has been serviced recently,  --- DO NOT USE --- Have the appliance checked by a qualified engineer.
